In Memoriam - Neil Mitchell (ON 1951-1958)

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Neil Mitchell, a cherished member of our ON community. He was a shining example of dedication and perseverance, recognising the value of education early on through a City Scholarship that helped shape his life.

Neil went on to inspire countless students as a dedicated teacher before taking on the role of bursar, where he worked tirelessly to support both staff and students alike. His commitment to the School extended well beyond his professional roles— he remained a steadfast supporter throughout the years, always championing the importance of education and ensuring future generations had access to the same opportunities that shaped his own journey.

We were particularly delighted to welcome Neil back to the School in recent times following a long period of illness.

Beyond his professional life, he had a deep love for Italy, food, travel, and music—passions that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.

He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
